Access control is provided with packet filtering based on port number and source/destination MAC/IP addresses.With Virtual Server Mapping, only specific services on a local server, like web, FTP or games may be made accessible from the Internet, ensuring the rest of the machine stays protected from hackers. If necessary, any of the built-in LAN ports of the router can function as a DMZ port.
